I am about to order my new shocks. I was contimplating on using the islet shocks for the upper front instead of the bolt. I always get frustrated with removing those damn things because they're always rusted and it's difficult to hold the shock still.
I was going to fabricate or find a company who sells something similar to top portion of the typical swaybar link disconnect. The piece that looks like this
__|__
|(bolt)|

The there is a bolt on top (vertical line) and holes in the sides to bolt the shock islet. The forum posting doesn't allow the lines to show up correctly, sorry.

Does anyone make a eliminator like this? It would make the search a little easier. I remember seeing a conversion using a sway bar mount or something to that effect that someone wrote, but that was about 3 years ago. I can't remember where I saw it.

Not sure about the front, but in the rear just take the rear lower sway bar link and use that as a bar pin elimanator for the rear upper shock mount. Mine are welded in, bot a bit sick of re-tapping.

For the front you could try taking the same sway bar end link bracket (remember we're talking about the one that bolts to the axle), drill a hole in it, and just use a bolt, and probably a busing inbetween the mount, and the shock tower, and a fender washer on top, and in theory it would work. I just don't know if there's that kind of space next to the coil for that size bracket. I'll have to walk out to the Jeep at lunch and take a look, but that could do it for you.

when I got the last set of shocks I thought about doing the front conversion but I chose not to as I didn't want to sacrifice the shock travel .
