I am moving out west and was planning on putting a 3" lift on my Cherokee.
I have heard through the grapevine that lifting these later models is not as easy as the earlier ones.

What are th problems I could run into?

Thanks

biggest issue I ran into is the rear drive shaft is more likely to need a slip-yoke eliminator. The tailshaft/pinion shaft angles are less forgiving on the newer ones and you are more likely to have bad vibrations. the bad news: you won't know haw bad the vibes will be until you lift it. The good news: this is very common and many good solutions exist, and lots of people have already corrected this problem so you aren't in uncharted territory by any definition. minor vibes can be corrected with a t-case drop (very cheap and easy, more serious vibes can be corrected with a slip-yoke eliminator kit (they vary in cost and complexity).

just lift it and see what happens, just know you might have to spend a few c-notes

99 XJ 3.5" RE AAL.. initially i had som epretty serious vibes, but a t/case drop and a small 2.5 degree shim smoothed them away for the most part.. and now that the springs have settled over the last year i get no vibes at all.. i will be taking out the drop kit to see if it comes back..
