Throttle body spacer on '89

This might be a dumb question but can I put a throttle body spacer on an '89 4.0? I thought I read somewhere that you couldn't but wanted to be sure. I know my intake parts look different from late model, but know anything about it. Thanks for the help fellas.

You can install a bored HO TB AND a HO TB spacer onto the non-HO manifold. Then you can have the benefit of both. You'll need to drill and tap four new holes in the manifold to bolt them in place though but that's no big deal.

You sure can. I got a 1 inch spacer on my 88.

Well worth it too. I got a couple MPG improvement from it.

yeh, right. :bs:

I put three 1" spacers on mine to get 6MPG, but had to take them off cuz the hood wouldn't close.
