Head Gasket?

I have searched this forum for the answer to my question.....no luck!! I was wondering if anyone could tell me how I change the head gasket? Yes, I know, I have to remove the valve cover!! Does anyone know of a write up on this or what not? Thanks in advance.

Do you own a Haynes or Chilton's manual for the XJ? Better yet, how about an FSM?

You WILL NEED one of these to do the job. If you cannot afford one, many libraries contain copies of Haynes or Chiltons', and you can photocopy the pages related to head removal & installation.

If you don't have any way to access those manuals, maybe I can send you PDF's of the critical pages from my 2000 FSM.

...you will have to take out a lot more than just the valve cover...
