View Full Version : Removing and Reinstalling Pitman Arm

Trying to replace my pitman arm. Stopped by the local parts store and rented their front end kit. First I snapped a piece off the puller then I snapped the head off my socket. I've sprayed it down for weeks with PB Blaster. Is there some trick that I am not doing correctly? And yes I removed all the bolts. Once I get it off, how do I get the new one seated on the steering shaft?
Thanks in advance.

I have gotten them off by putting the puller on and tightening it on as tight as I dare then tapping the pitman arm with a hammer around where the shaft goes through. Putting the new one on is easy, slide it on and tighten the bolt.

Also, applying heat is helpful.
