comments on how to waterproof engines, sparkplugs so to help aid in avoiding hydrolock? I have a K&N airfilter so no stock intake.

There are some good points raised in this article. As for avoiding hydrolock, keep the intake above the water level. Your best option in that department is a snorkel. Not running one myself, so I'll let somebody else field that.
