chrysler 8.25

Okay the wife just got a 99 XJ and I am trying figure out the rear. I am almost positive its the 8.25 but it looks a lot like the D35. I have heard that if its flat on the bottom its the 8.25, is that correct?

Of course, you can also look at the cover and see whether it has a Chrysler pentastar on it or the Dana diamond-looking thingy.
