If there is play in the slip spline of the front driveshaft, is that something that can be fixed, or does the whole shaft need to be replaced? I've already replaced everything else on it, and there is definitely play at that slip joint.

A driveshaft shop can rebuild it, but it would probably be cheaper to just replace it with a recycled part. Save it as a trail spare, or pass it along to someone who needs a trail spare.

How much will it cost to replace the slip shaft where you are? If everything else is good. It should be cheaper than a new one. I ended up replacing mine. The whole thing needed rebuilding and the shop wanted as much to rebuild it as I could buy a new one from Tom Woods.

Well, there's only one shop around here that deals with driveshafts, all other shops send their work there, even the off-road shops. They want $400 for a full rebuild, so that seems a little expensive for me. To rebuild the slip shaft, do you have to cut it off and weld a new one on??
