Did I miss the news over the weekend, or did you not announce it? What did you end up getting to replace the '98?

LOL.... well I didn't annoucne it cause I'm wating for my brother in law to come back from a trip with his digi cam so I could post pics... but here it is:
the replacement rig is a 1997 Cherokee SE trim with 4.0 and aw4. It's got a rough country AAL lift which will go out real soon and my RE lift is going in (actually thanks to help from Johnny and Mike this weekend my front end has my RE stuff already on it!!!! woohoo). It also has almost everything manual but that's going to change... cause I got all my power stuff which will swap over (hopefully without too much trouble). So the SE will become Sport trim without the sticker :D.

Oh did I mention that the rig is red?

So you wound up doing just what I suggested. Now you have a good engine to stroke and a AW4 to sell for spare cash. Lifted, so was it 4wd? More parts for liquidation. Red, huh? So are you officially changing to Ketchup? What did the '97 SE cost, if you don't mind me asking? And I find it hard to believe that a computer geek like yourself doesn't have a digicam. Good luck, have fun, and be safe.

LOL... ok... yeah after I complete the transmission swap I will dump the aw4 (I already sold the near brand new 31's it came with :D ). Also it was 4wd with a 231 which I will keep for a spare or for parts: maybe at one time build it up or sell it and apply the $$ towards an atlas or something, not sure.
Can't change my name to catchup cause as soon as I get some time it's going to become HERCULINER BLACK :D

Oh digi cam? Don't own one: the ones I like cost waaaaay too much money and I like my SLR that I got . One of these days I'll take a plunge and get me a digicam but for now I'd rather put $$ into the jeep :)

Is it the fire engine red or the chili pepper red?

Ummm I think that year it was "chili pepper red"

That is a great color, don't paint it right away. They had discontinued it when we ordered our '01, so we settled for the Sienna pearlcoat instead, which is more of a burgundy... it matches my '87 MJ very closely, but I still like the chili pepper red better when I do occasionally see one. The flame red (fire engine color) is very common.

My folks got me a Samsung Digimax about 2 years ago as a gift. It's only 1.3 megapixels, but when you take the pics out of it and pass it through the 1-hour-photo machine onto 4x6 prints, I'd say they're nearly indistinghuishable from your garden-variety 35mm point-and-shooters (if you leave the resolution on highest and the size at the max of 1280x960). I would also pick my SLR if I needed high-qual shots, but my Samsung is fine for the "everyday" snapshots - it's small, light, and can hold just over 120 pics on the 64MB CompactFlash card I have for it. If I pick up another memory card or two, I can take a mountain of pics that don't take a lot of space to carry around.

That model (or something comparable if it's no longer in production) shouldn't run more than $100, which isn't all that much.

Just a thought.

Yeah.. but see the problem is that I will buy it... use it a few times and decide that I should have gotten something good from the getgo, return it and spend an arm and a leg.... so I'd rather pass for now :)
