Strange clank when braking, but only after reverse!

I am getting a strange metallic clanking noise when I step on the brakes. This only happens after I have been in reverse, driven forward, and stepped on the brakes. It only happens one time, and only after being put into to drive, after reverse.

It sounds like slack is being taken up in something, but I have no clue what it is. Thanks

if the noise is coming from he front, the front upper control arms are probably slightly loose.

When's the last time you did your brakes? Look at the mounting hardware for the rear shoes as well as the adjuster. If it happened other times I'd think the slipjoint on the driveshaft would be suspect and needs greasing.

i will confirm the previous statement about the upper control arms, i had the same thing drove me nuts for 3 months only found it cause i replaced my front axle.
