control arm mounting pockets

alright I have some energy suspension bushings(chevy) for my lower control arms to mount in the top mounts (on the unibody) & they are 2" on the inside of the 2 bushings & 2 15/16" total width & the pocket seems to small. Should I machine down the bushings or will the pocket stretch open to accomidate the bushings, cause I was planning on machineing my sleeve 2.5", does this sound right. I know I should just take one of my control arms off & check , but I thought this might be easier :wow:
 
Id say dont even do it!Poly sucks!More binding,more noise!
