RE superflex joints...service?

How can I tell if an RE joint is "adjusted" correctly? I rebuilt a couple of them in a set of adjustable UCAs that I got, and I'm getting a "pop" once in awhile. Are they too tight? Too loose?
On one of them, I can BARELY get grease in there. I have to back out the grease tit a few turns before it will take grease.

There was just an art. in 4wd Sport Ut or Jp I forget about rebuilding RE joints. That is all I can give. Juice
