another question about temps

i just changed the stat on my 2000 to a 180. it always ran at 210-220 solid. now it stays around 190 and ben up to 210 but it hasn't ben that hot here since i changed it. it seams to run a whole lot better, but i'm shure the new pluges are helping that too. anyway is there any advantage to switching to the 180?
