I understand that there are 2 different diameter carriers where the ring gear is bolted. At what gear ratio does the larger carrier get used?

for the d30 if you want to go lower than 3.73 you need a different carrier
(3.07-3.73 stock carrier) (4.10-4.88 you need a new carrier)
for the C8.25 axel you can use the stock carrier up to 4.56 gears.. Im not exactly sure with the D35 what the carrier will hold.. Someone will help with more info

thanks want to regear for 32's some time. got 31's now but when they whare out i want the 32's for street and 31's for trail till i can lift it higher.

XTrmXJ you are off a little the carrier break for a Dana 30 is 373 and up/ 355 and down meaning 307-355 373-488
