OK Folks, I want to get this on everyones radar so we can plan for it and get a good turnout. We will also hold our July chapter meeting on Saturday so all the more reason to come, right?

We're going up to the Cub River area, located North of Logan, Utah. Jerry Harrison knows the area well and will be leading us on this run, Jerry also has a "cabin" up the Cub River with a small camping area and a larger campground just up the road.

Get it on your calender and stay tuned here for an update this week with more details,
I know you have a lot of questions like....... where's the map, camp site options, who's bringing stuff for Smores, can I fish there, is the Cub River inhabited by real live bears, what's the trail difficulty, is it true that Jimmy Hoffa had a summer home in nearby Franklin, ID?..............hold onto them for a few days and they'll prolly get answered with the update!

*****************************UPDATE!!************* **********************

Yeah, I need details, so I can wrestle some leave..same as last time, friday being the 'set up the tents and murder a few marshmellows, and saturday trails..or..what? Not to mention a step by step, 'how the hell do I get there leaving a trail of parts' map. Gives me a weekend to get the radiator and..um, stuff back in there.

Whats the requirements for a run like this? I live out in Grantsville and would love a good run and some camping. My Xj isn't quite as built as most but I love off roading. Its not stock, but not hardcore, how serious are the trails you usually run on these trips? I'm not a full Naxja member yet, I'm planning on joining, and will right away if I need too.

Come on out! You don't have to be a member to come on these runs. For a run like this you don't need a really built rig. I would imagine a stock XJ will traverse most areas. There are quite a few of us in the "not stock but not hardcore" category but we have a lot of fun anyway. Stay tuned for updates on the run and hope to see ya out there.

I should be there with the family this time. I think we will probably leave home just after lunch on Friday and probably be there around 3 or 4 pm to set up camp. Use the rest of the evening to do some exploring or something.

(part of this is in another thread, but figured I'd toss it here) Popeye (mostly Popeye) and I got the radiator (3 row) and tranny cooler installed saturday, so that's done. I had a header/new exhaust (old cat still good), put in. And front and rear extended bumpstops are in, now, too. and I got the front bar pin eleminators in. The shock was flapping in the breeze, when some idjit who will remain nameless launched it off that lil hill coming down into our campsite last month..cough..was kinda fun, though. Bought a springbar tent, since I looked like I was hang-gliding trying to put up the 6 man tent by myself until Joe and his wife took pity on me, and staked my foot to the turf using my shoelaces. Got a rubber mallet too. Told the girl at Kirkham's, it was for tent stakes, cuz, she didn't know about the rabid badgers we ran into, last time. I'm pretty sure the springbar tent is like something out of the Jetson's..push a button and poof, it's up. So, ya'll might wanna stand back when I try that..might put an eye out or something. My temp gauge is working again. Thought it was the sensor, but was the ground wire being too close to it, pegged it over 310. Moved it, and she stays at 208, which is fine. Still have a lot to do..problem is, I don't even know half of what's still ahead..don't tell me, I can't afford Prozac :P hasta
But I'll be there friday night, we'll have fun.

Okay, seeing that I no longer have any axles under my rig anymore, I won't be doing any trail driving.
But for dinner Saturday night, is anybody else going to have any kids running around? I have a 2 and 4 year old girls.
If I'm home Saturday evening, I wanted to come up in the afternoon and join everybody for dinner. Also, if I do come up, I'll bring some tri-tip to cook up. Guaranteed I'll be everybody's hero.
Please let me know.
Thanks,
Dan.

Hey, I showered...well, it rained, that should count. But, since you brought it up, I'll see if Albertson's sells a 55 gallon drum of baked beans, and you..no pun intended, get to be tailgunner on ALLLL the trails :P
I honestly don't know what I'll bring. Don't have time to prepare anything, and my cooking in the great outdoors skills are MIA, sooo, it'll be a surprise, even to me.

Sorry I didn't make it up to your place the other night. A few other things I had on my do-to list got left undone as well. I try to do too much.

Anyway, now that I've made a feeble atempt to kiss a little :moon: , bring some extra tri-tip and I'll bring a little extra cash or strong  for ya.

So, what's everyone else gonna have? Er, I mean, nod..should be plenty!
I'm gonna grab about 2 hours sleep, pack, leave a few things I'll desperately need later on, and wander on up. Bring the kids, we'll find something fer 'em to do. Last month, I had a 5 year old show me beaver nests. I wasn't aware beavers had nests, but I got set straight on that, at least. I don't have much hair, but what I did have turned grey, trying to keep a 5 year old and a 3 year old out of the creek..they couldn't have drowned if they'd tried, but it still pushed every 'mother hen' button I have. Danger Will Robinson, Danger!
Took me 44 years to learn there's something to that family thing...
