Can you use a scuba tank for on board on air like they make the co2 bottles?

you can but c02 tank holds a lot more gas . c02 is liquid and a scuba tank is high pressure gas

You can. I have it on my setup. Go here:

A CO2 tank holds something like 800 psi of pressure. The CO2 is actually a liquid inside the tank and only becomes a gas as the pressure is released and it comes out.

As you may (or may not) know, a SCUBA tank holds compressed air at about 3,000 psi. The difference is significant. As all SCUBA divers have been taught, breaking the valve on a full tank turns it into a missile! I have seen this first-hand myself when a tank fell over, broke the valve off, shot a huge hole through the side of the boat, and went skipping off across the water doing a credible impersonation of a torpedo. Had anyone been between it and the side of the boat where it went through I have absolutely no doubt that they would have been killed.

If you use a SCUBA tank you must EXTREMELY careful about how it is mounted in order to insure that there is NO WAY for the valve to be damaged!

I'm just using my Scuba tank to hold 150 PSI compresed air, not CO2 or anything high pressure. It actually failed its last test, thats why I only paid $15 for it.
