front leaf conv, cross member?

I have searched and read the front leaf conversion threads but I had a question about what people used to tie the front of the unibody together, at the bumper. 4x4 angle seemed the most common. Does that get in the way of removing the steering box? I have a c4x4 front winch bumper with that would a crossmember be needed. By the way I was gonna weld the 4x4 angle in.

hehe, looks like i started something with the 4x4x1/4 angle

it does block the steering box from dropping straight down, but you can still pull it out by pulling it back/down.

i wouldn't recommend welding just the 4x4 angle on, I would make some side supports like towhook brackets and weld or bolt those on.

I have looked at the picks of your truck alot, I appreciate it. I do intend to plate the whole frame, 3/16s probably.
