'85 axle shaft

i pretty sure there the same but, is the front axle in an 85 xj the same as later models. i found an abandoned xj its a 85 and i need some front axle shafts. so i figured this might be a cheap way to get some.

PS: it is along the susquehanna river and if we get this storm today it will probably float down river.

Depends on how later of a model you are comparing it to. It will have 260 U-joints, which are smaller than the 297 parts found in more recent XJ's. I think it is also possible for it to have CV joints in '85 if it is a selectrac-equipped model. Worth a look, but not necessarily worth pulling.
