takin off the flares

Pretty strait forward remove approx. 10 or so 10 millimeter nuts from inside the fender and it will come right off. BTW depending on how new your jeep is you can expect to snap off several of the studs. Personally I don't care for the no flare look, but there are alot of folks that love it.

I did some pretty extreme fender trimming and went with TJ flares. I posted an article about it about two months ago try a search for TJ flares if your interested, also has some pics.

Does removing the flares give anymore clearence for tires?

Thanks
Yes it does. Depending on how much you cut you can fit much larger tires. Here is how I did mine. Go to Fenders. I personally like the no flare look, but to each his own.

i personally think flares look better, and it will help keep the rooster tail effect down (unless you dont care) but thats just my 3 cents:)
