Um.. what is stock!?

Ok... everything I have ever known, has been that D35s NEVER came with anything deeper than 4:10s. Well I just picked up a D35 out of a 87' wagoneer with 4:56s! I didnt believe it but the numbers are stamped in em'. 41-9. Anyone heard of this before? Oh and it had a 4 cylinder with an auto and 231.

You don't happen to know if it was a 3 or 4 speed auto do you? Sorry can't help you with the rear gears.

I scored the same deal on a 4cyl parts jeep I picked up a couple months ago. 4.56s front and rear. IIRC it was a 2.5L, dunno what tranny model but it was a 3 speed, and a 231. Sorry I cant help with the tranny model but yes, apparantly some did come with 4.56s

if you chang the ratio in one diff you have to match it for the other of serious damage will result.
