Is it possible to run a locker in the front with a 242 transfer case?? I have been told Yes and No.

You absolutely can run any locker available. The transfer case doesn't know whether there's a locker or not.

I have a detroit in my front axle for 3 years now and i don't even recognize it until i put the t-case in 4WD :D

The problem comes when you try to use the transfer case as it was intended and shift it into full time 4WD on the street. If you have an automatic locker, handling will get all kinds of weird on you and you will start changing lanes without moving the wheel. I've done this and it would have been scarry at over 30 mph. A selectable locker if left open will not be a problem. Nor would a limited slip diff in the front.
There is no reason you can't use it in 2 high.

I forgot, people actually use full time on the street.

My shifter is either all the way forward or all the rearward.

In 2wd, it should be seamless.
