Can you setup aftermarket ignition to bypass ICM?

I'm runing a non-HO 4.0L and my ICM is starting to give me troubles. I've had a jacobs ignition for a long while but it piggy backs the stock ignition system. A new ICM is about $200 so I'd like to try and bypass it so the Jacob's system is being fired directly off the computer.

Has anyone tried this?
