I know this is generaly a xj forum but I never hav any problems with my 86MJ!
This is on a 98 zj 5.9ltd with 80k. Ive replaced the left side wheel brg and cv to no avail I pulled the cover and the ring gear, pinion and bearings looked fine I just went through the rear end last week for it had a broken clutch in the trac loc, the rear now runs totaly silent. The front end noise could be described as a faint grinding only during decell that can be felt slightly in the stearing wheel. I dont think its brake related for the calipers move freely and the pads and roters look fine, the noise also dont change when the brakes are aplied.
HELP I'm curently out of ideas, maby the T-case? its a np 249.
