The "CLUNK" revisited...

For those of you that read my previous thread, here is an update.

Removed the OME shocks to find that the lower bushings were wallowed out fairly bad. I put some stock shocks, with rubber bushings, back on and the clunk disappeared.

I replaced the worn poly bushings with some new ones, and put the OME shocks back on. The clunk has lessened but is still there, only faintly.

So I am thinking that my Jeep just doesnt like the poly bushings and I would still like to get a hold of some rubber bushings, so here is where I need some more help:

Where can I find some *rubber* bushings for shocks, that are NOT the typical hourglass style bushings? Any help is appreciated anf thanks to all of those that weighed in on the noise issue.

Just punch the stock rubber ones out and put them in your new shocks??? Its not that hard get some wd-40 and a bolt that fits inside pop a washer underneath the bolt head and pound away(this is the hard way)...Or just use a vice :banghead: much faster and easier...

Do you need to rotate the mounts due to shimming, that will cause a "clunk" and wear out the bushings quickly!

Rotate which mounts? Uppers, lowers or what?

I do have some degree shims in there as of the other night, so we'll see if that changes anything.

Does anyone know of a supplier or source for OEM rubber bushings? Or rubber bushings period?

Thanks
