I was just wondering why there is such a big price difference in the two? Is Tom woods really that much better or should i say stronger?

The RE1801 and 1807 hack-n-taps are only the SYE, and don't include the price of a driveshaft. Even the RE 1811 HD SYE does not include shaft prices, but what I found on Tom Wood's site (http://www.4xshaft.com/conversions.html) says they include the driveshaft.

RE SYE - http://www.rubiconexpress.com/dynamic/mainpage.asp?folderid=208
RE1898 Driveshaft - http://www.rubiconexpress.com/dynamic/mainpage.asp?folderid=234

That's exactly right. For about 5 bills out the door with Tom Wood, you've got everything you need as well as an extra hundred off if you send back your old. On top of that you get the best customer service in the industry.

I went with the RE SYE for my NP242, I did pay about 265 for a rear driveshaft at a local shop. A1 Drive Lines in Glen Burnie, MD. So yes you need a new rear driveshaft. Juice
