Track bar bracket

I just bought a RE adjustable track bar and have a question about the axle end. I bought my Jeep lifted and it looks like it had a bracket on the axle.
Here are a few pics

Should I remove this bracket and bolt the track bar in place of it?

Im guessing that the bracket in question was put there to fix the trackbar angle after somone installed a drop pitman arm. If that is the case, no, you should leave the bracket on there or you will end up with a case of the bumpsteers

Usually those brackets are a cheap alternative to an adjustable trackbar. I saw one of them break two weekends ago, that little "ear" thats bolted on the right snapped clean off and was causing the trackbar to pop and click all over the place. Ditch that thing and put your adjustable trackbar on. Also www.por15.com will fix your rust problem. Good luck.
