Piston ring spacing?

Are you asking where the ring gaps should fall relative to each other and to the engine, or are you asking what the end gaps should be?

Or both?

I need to know where the gaps go in respect to one another. ie: com.ring is 90from the pin oil ring is 180 etc.

I only have the FSM from the 88, but imagine they are the same.
Using the front of engine, notch, on the piston as 12 O'clock.
Top compression ring is 6 O'clock
Second compression ring 12
Top oil ring 9
Expander skirt
Bottom oil ring 6

Ring gap was listed in Chiltons as .010-.020
There was a couple of notes, if the inside edge of a ring has a bevel (rounded) it goes down, the stampings on the rings go up.

My FSM had two sets of diagrams, one didn´t show the front of the motor, just the alignment of the rings in relation to the crank pin. Be easy to put things in mirror image, don´t really think it would make much differenc though.
