Need to work some things out with work schedule but I have every intention of being there. BTW, I have a friend who lives up there, he says the trails have been wimpified a bit and the price has gone up to $10 a day.

Price went back down April 1st to $5 and trails have actually not been worked on this year at all...They did work on Lower 2 but as far as I know nothing else has been touched...the last 2 times we were there we rode evrything but 7,8 and 9...There is talk of working on the obstacles before guradrail but don't know when that will happen adn before the end of the year there are suppose to build the bridges...

Danno
April 15th, 2004, 07:29
looks like I won't be able to be there. That's the only week I could get scheduled for summer vacation that the whole family could fit in. They all voted to go to Moab for the week. Damn, don't cha just hate it! :dunno: But I will miss wheeling with you all.
I do have to make some arrangements while in Moab for the Fall Fling and it's much easier to do it in person.

someone needs to call Georgia Mike and tell him that he and Wendy need to come up for the meal sat, so we can see them.

April 20th, 2004, 08:14
well, put this dan in the same boat as danno, we're doing NACfest this year, the dates land too close together and times are tough right now, with rolling the Jeep at Winterfest (add repairs to the tally) and cost of fuel all added in it'll be impossable to make it. I've never ran Paragon either so that's the determining factor as to what trip to make this summer, plus it's closer.

Have fun, be safe, someone else can clean up on the awards this year. LOL

Last time I was in Hotlanta I had dinner with them. Boy was that fun! They got to see two wild kids! THe twinns were there! He said that he would try and come. Wendy still has her XJ and boy is it sweet!

we got a slew of Florida xj's heading up...my xj, my wifes trail xj, and my buddy freds xj will all be heading up on the same trailer...my friend chris will be towing his xj up there with a rv for his first time riding in the mountains, and my friend hugh should be driving his up too...thats 5 that should be arriving all at once from Florida...probably rolling into crawfords on the evening of the 8th.

Any other florida xj's want to join the slow rolling convoy from Ocala...the chevy pull truck and rv towing an xj will probably only hit 65 mph the whole way up...

and michelle says give up already on the raffle goodies...she's feeling lucky

I've been working harder than a one legged man in an azzkicking contest trying to get my heep finished. Holy cow it's had a lot of cash thrown at it. What's done: drivetrain ,suspension, rockrails, main cage hoops, new 38.5 SX's,new AXE2 seats with 5 point harnesses,etc... What's left to be done:finish cage, install new ARB in front end(old one self distructed),install fuel cell, Currie anti-rock,brake lines, finish making belly pans (the whole bottom should be flat and covered) and send to the paint shop.....should be able to get it done...

Well, between Kudzu and her little red headed buddy, Mark, and Woody, it looks like I can get myself out on the trails. Guess I gotta work out how to get myself down there.
Is anyone doing an evening run on Wednesday?
Grant(my son) will be in summer school again so I doubt he will be coming along. Plus since I am bumming rides I guess I will leave Jenny home again this year. Not sure how she and Lugnut would get along anyway?

Now that NACFest is over this is the next thing I have to look forward to. ALthough now I have to fix a bunch of stuff I broke:

Side window vent
Exhaust manifold & rest of exhaust
Clutch slave/master
vacuum lines which melted
steering tie rod / other
tail lamps

not too much, but I will probably take it a bit easier this trip so the drive home is a bit easier.

I had no idea the list was so extensive!!! You sure kept quiet about it (at least I knew about the window). We gave "Most Thrashed" to Phunkadelic, because a lot of folks broke some stuff, but nobody (until now) really stood out. At least her damage was "unique" :) . Looks like we made an error, you certainly deserved that plaque to ease your pain. :tears:

Take it easy down South, Tellico can sure bite as hard as Paragon.

keith
i'm confused..
wheres the red 98 you drove to the crawl last year??
& whats this talk about a 2wd xj??

you could probly hitch a ride w/ Me & my son (garrett) on Fri but i'm not sure how many trails we'll actually hit on Sat.

it depends on wether or not i get the front locker installed before then as to what trails we will run..

I still have the same '98 red XJ. Problem is that I blew out the front ARB and gears, so right now it only has 2wd and won't be fixed before the Crawl. That is why I am looking to ride along....I won't have a fully functional jeep to drive myself.
You and plenty of others have been kind enough to offer me rides so I plan to be there in my little Honda Civic. And no, I will not try to wheel the Civic. My daughter wants to be able to drive it to school next year.

Anyone coming from Midwest?

Also, I am being forced to go to Mexico for a week, so I dont know if I am going to get everything done on time. Finding that damn vent piece of glass for a 2 door is going to be the determining factor. Or I could just ducttape a piece of plexi back in, and hopefully it makes it 1300 miles of highway driving to and from

Kudzu
June 24th, 2004, 18:57
is that vent that opens up or just the sationary glass...I can possible have one for you once you get down here...

JasonXJ
June 24th, 2004, 20:23
Its the vent portion... i have a glass shop who says they will have it tomorrow, for $110 (doh!) the dealership would have been about $70 but they couldnt guarantee it for a week or so, and I hope to have everything finished by this saturday, so that I dont have to worry about it after i get back from Mexico...

If the shop has the wrong glass tomorrow (which I have a sneaking suspision about) I will get back to you...

2offroad
June 25th, 2004, 04:51
there are 2 types of vent glass one that opens and one that does not. that is what Heather was asking. i have one for the pass. side that opens.

Not trying to gum up your attendance thread, but looking at your discussion with JasonXJ, there is the possibility of misunderstanding.

Just in case, I want to clarify the movable vents that JasonXJ is looking for. NOT the ones on the front door, but the vents in the REAR quarter glass of a two door (they flip open an inch or so). His broken one was on the passenger side, IIRC.

Other than that, hope you all have a blast at Tellico.

Hey, is anyone bringing a welder, my front right side lower control arm mount seems to have taken a bit more of a beating at Paragon than I noticed before, and I have run out of time to fix it. (Due to GD work trip to Mexico all next week). Weld is cracking... tab is probably bent (i forget what it looked like originally)

Can do I can bring one or you can use Steve's Shop...Not sure what the charge theses days is one it and if Dale is there all we need are a couple of batteris he has the rods...LOL..I think I will throw the little Lincon in the burban and bring it along...

Also I will check monday on the window I think the local junk yard had one just in case..
