Yoke on Chrysler 8.25 problem...

The dust shield on the yoke at the pinion is spinning freely. Do i need to replace the yoke, or can I just remove the shield? Its a new yoke about 1 month old. Please help, I'm tired of listening to it spin. :gee:

Just looked under my 96 and the wife,s 98 both with 8.25s. Didn,t see any type of shield between the yoke and seal. Must not be necessary.
