Would a gas tank out of 85' 2.4, work in a 91' 4.0. I need to change out the 91, and I have the same size tank out of the 85'.

I know the sending unit would be different. Now I don't know if the sending unit from your '91 would fit the later model tank?

I assume you mean an '85 4-cyl, which is 2.5L not 2.4
It used a different fuel pump, and was probably a 13-gallon tank. Not a good candidate to swap into a newer 4.0L.
