The electric speedometer on my '93 XJ (4.0L, 2WD, automatic) is goofy.
While driving: it'll be working OK for most of the time, then, sometimes when
it's between 25-35 mph, the pointer will twitch and suddenly drop to "0" and
lay there for few seconds...then the pointer will suddenly bounce back up
and resume to function normally. No problems with the speedo between
35-70 mph.
I pulled and checked the sensor drive gears, and I checked the orientation
of the sensor adaptor - and it all looks OK.
Installing a new speed sensor (as well as a new sensor harness connector)
did not improve things very much.
Does anybody have any suggestions where else I should look?
Anybody know if /where / which fuse(s) I should try looking at?
