Well, I live in the small USMC town of Beaufort, SC and was just wondering if there were any legal places to go trail riding. Does anybody know? I just moved down here from Ohio and don't know where anything is.

Yo! Semper Fi! No I was not a Marine, I live in HHI for a year and will never go back if I can help it! Beaufort is a different story! The locals and soem 4 wheeler clubs are working on it but.... The closest "real trail system" in Uwharrie. Right outside Troy, NC. Nice place. There is a thread in here about a clean-up and work days this month. Woody lives about 45 min from there and so does 2offroad. I live about 2 hours from there. My locals get out a couple times a month but that is usually in the mud/sand. There is a little place outside Darlington, SC called Little Saudi Arabia. It is a big red sand hill. Kinda fun if you go for the day with a group. Not many trails though and the last time I was there they were closed bc of flooding! HTH shoot me an email if you want to know more. Not that there is any, and check that help weekend out. It's a good way to get in and see the place...... B4 april 1st.

Hey man, we still go up there. You just have to be careful. If you go in between the bean fields go out the other end so they won't be waiting on you when you come back out the other side. There are bypasses around all the hard stuff.Heading up on sunday if u wanna go. #423-1016,Zach

I'm moving to HHI right after graduation this May. I'm also looking for places down there to wheel after I get settled down there. Does anybody know of a local 4x4 club down that way that I can join?
TIA

Down in HHI its doubtfull you will find a club. HHI is full of a buch af starving workers and snobish rich people! Except for the middle amercan famlies that vist there! JMHO! However, Savanah, or Beauford might have one. I know there is one in Charlston. Check out www.usjeeps.com they are a part of Mid Carolina Jeepers. I know there are some on there in Charleston. Good luck, and if you are around Florence, SC let me know ahead of time and well get together and talk jeep! The best place to wheel around here is Uwharrie and Tellico. But Tellico is a hike. Uwharrie is only about 2 hours for me. So that would make it about 4-5 from HHI. Tellico is 5-6 for me and I woudl think it was about 8-9 from HHI. But well worth it. B4 you take the job tell them you need the crawl weekedn off! LOL! The best time ever. I'm going to actually be running, assuming I don't blow it up between now and then, this year! :)
