well, after living in utah for about 6 months, i've decided to move back to georgia. reasons include shitty job, making no money, no social life, and other assorted crap. but, i got to wheel in some of the coolest places in the US while i've been out here, and meet some of y'all. super friendly folks. i'm moving back on the 16th of march, so i want to go to moab one last time before i do. anyone wanna go the weekend before, the 13th and 14th of march? i've got a few friends flying in to help me move, and i wanna show them the desert, since they've never seen it, and it'll be a long time before i see it again. i wanna do some trails i've never done before, which won't be tough since i've only done metal masher, kane creek, and part of fins and things (at night, which i might wanna do again). anyone up for it?

Hey Grant, sorry to hear things didn't work out for you here, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. At least you got to experience Moab wheeling. Even after the move back to GA, I hope to see you out on the trail during one of NAXJA's events. Best of success in the Peach state.

I'm still working on Kent and his buddies. Trying to get Kent to change his plans is like trying to move a mountain. But, I can be irritating if I want to. Heck, maybe even when I DON'T want to...

It's official! My wife and I are heading down there this weekend and will be staying Friday to Monday (12-15th). We'll stay at the Best Inn, or the Ramada if they will give us a good deal. Now the question is Grant - Are YOU still coming? Come on, be a man! We're doing Pritchett for sure, on Saturday most likely. We had 2 open axled cherokees with about 4.5" lifts go thru there last time we went, you'll be fine. One of them was even running 30" street tires!

Henry, glad to have you along. You're welcome to come with, but be warned - there are a couple specific trails we are going to run. Pritchett Canyon and Golden Spike. Both are very difficult trails and take a whole day each. Golden Spike in particular takes a looong time to run. I think we're planning on Pritchett Saturday, so most likely will do Golden Spike on Sunday.
Are you alone? Or do you have a group coming with you with more rigs?

Thanks for the response, I just found out I will be in a group of 10 rigs if everyone makes it. I may break off and meet up with you I don't know yet. I am set up, 35's, 8.8- detroit-4.56-atlas,d30-4.56-detroit-warn hubs, winch. I finished my rig about four months ago but havent wheeled it hard too much snow and ice for me wanted to wait for moab to test it out. We will be staying at the super 8 and arriving on friday early. Does someone have a local number I can call when we get there?

Well you're xj is built about as much as I dream of, so you should not have a problem running with us. ;)
I will have a cell phone in Moab, but I'm not sure if it will be mine or my wife's.
(I can't remember which one doesn't have roaming charges.) I'll let you know what the number is. It looks like we'll probably be at the Best Inn. I think we'll be getting there late Friday night and staying till Tuesday morning.

Yeah, probably the Best Inn. Here's their info:
Best Inn of Moab Utah
988 North Main Street ~ Moab, Utah 84532

My room will be under Jared McKeeth, just call them and ask for my room. I'll probably arrive Friday in vicinity of 2pm'ish.

i'll be there late friday night. so will i REALLY be able to make it through pritchett? i'd hate to piss everyone off by having to get yanked a lot or stack tons of rocks. 5" 32s, unlocked. don't care about body damage too much. what are y'all paying for hotels?

Mikal made it thru with a RE 4.5" lift and 32" swamper SX's and open diffs. Well, he had a so so trac-lok in the back. You can make it if we did. We don't mind tossin out the strap either. But, it would be pretty extreme and quite difficult. So, it's totally up to you. You are more than welcome to join us, and we won't be offended if you decline.
I'm going to install my new rock rails tonight, just in case.
The Best Inn charges $60 for a 2 queen room, $50 for 1 king. I asked them to give me a better deal and they knocked $5 per night off for me with no hassle at all. We'll probably see you down there, either way.

We don't mind throwing a tow strap at all. I've already told Jared to keep his handy, because I plan on following him. Our group is going to be pretty small; Jared, Me, probably Dan (trndrvr), and maybe Henry (tvguy). We plan on taking our time, getting some pictures, and just having a laid back trip. Or at least as laid back as you can on Prichett. :D Give Jared or me a call.
My cell numbers are:

We are pretty laid back, how about 9am? We gotta eat breakfast and feed the kid so any earlier kinda stinks for us. Pritchett shouldn't take more than 5-6 hours even with a mild pace. Be prepared, there's an entrance fee for the trail. It's like $3-5 or something at the honor box at the trailhead.
I got one of my new www.rigidco.com rockrails on tonight. The other one goes on tomorrow morning. It looks awesome:kissyou: Rocker Knocker here I come!

We're outta here! I'm in the big yellow jeep with no roof rack and no front flares or front bumper. Easy to spot. My CB is TKO for now, so we'll be on some FRS radios - channel 7. Hope to see you guys there tonight.

Who runs Rigidco Jared? They are obviously Utah based and they build a nice looking front bumper and the price is very fair.......even though they were obviously inspired by mine. ;)
I'm gonna have to pay them a visit and chat. Not sure that their sideplates help cure DW thought...........http://www.rigidco.com/bumper_mounting_system.htm
Wish I were going, enjoy Pritchett......Grant, you'll drive most of it and taking a strap on couple of spots is fine too.
