Cleaning free-flow airfilters

I've had a freeflow airfilter on my XJ for about 8 months now and I am wondering if I should give some thought to cleaning it. I was curious as to what would be the best way? Are there any good products out there to clean freeflow airfilters? Any advice would be great!

Ah just throw it away and buy another one. Then you know it's clean!

I think Summit has cleaner and oil in all kinds of different colors.

pretty sure you could get the K&N cleaner from Advanced auto or something like that for around $10
