Are there any seat belts that fit in the xj that lock out? Kind of like the Ranger. With a bad neck/back the pressure of the belt gets to me on a long drive.

Thanks
Keith

I guess rachet (sp?) would be a better word.. What I mean is when you put them on you can pull them out alittle and they'll lock in place. So they don't have constant pressure on them.

I know exactly what you're talking about. The Chrysler L-Bodies (Omni, Horizon, etc.) and K-Cars (Aries, Reliant) had those. My old Omni has those, and I think it's a nice feature.

Is it only the pressure of the retractor that's giving you problems, or is it partly due to where the belt sits against you? If it's the latter, have you considered one of the myriad of products for short people? I've seen several that reposition the belt for those who find that the belt cuts into their neck.

Rob

I understand that a clothes pin works pretty well (if it's not just a bit too goofy for ya), Just remember that you're that much closer to the glass/dash!

what about those plastic rivet sort of deals, i know ford uses them. theyre just like a round button that is put in the center of the belt and they keep it from retracting too far...would work just like the clothes pin but look less ghetto.....just a thought.

Thanks for the replies... It's the pressure that's the problem.. Rearended by a delivery truck at 65mph did a job on my upper back... I'll give those plastic rivets a try.

Thanks

There was a company that made lock out seatbelts for XJ,YJ and TJ in 4wd Sport Utilty Mag some time last year I saw it there. Can't seem to think of the name but email the mag they might be able to help.
