Can we get some idea of the people who plan to show up so we don't get surprised. If you put your name down, it isn't a hard and fast, got to be there thing, but it would be nice to know how many burgers to fire up.
If you could list your name, city, number of people in your clan.

What's the final decision? 11am at Johnson's on the 6th? Pencil me in at about noonish if I can get there that fast. Kids okay?

Kids are OK as long as you keep them chained
Actually, I would like to see NAXJA be a family friendly group. With everybody cutting everybody else a little slack and giving everybody respect. If there are times when we need to transact some business, it would be nice to have a bit of quiet if it is at all possible, but remember. The only reason any of us are here is that we never grew up. If you don't believe it, ask your wife or girlfriend. So if no kids applies, we are all out a here.
I figured since JohnJohn hasn't brought up the subject about changing the location, that the time and place is fixed. I will double check with him just to make sure, but we need to get a rough count so the dealership knows what to expect.

Tom, I'll be there with my son and possibly my wife. I think she's anxious to meet you and see what all the fuss is all about. We'll be driving the 4cyl if I can get the clutch going again. The master cylinder is fried again and I'm looking for an alternative one. I saw one in a Toyota that I think I can adapt.

hey folks,
looks like it will be a great turnout!
in an effort to raise some funds for my NAXJA membership ;) (and to get rid of the rest of these things) i will bring the limited-edition stainless steel plaques which i had made for the NAXJA XJ Anniversary bash in Moab last october...
http://xtb.com/XJ/plaques/steel.html
i've been selling them on ebay for $16.75 shipped, but will let them go for $10 each to anybody at the meeting.

I was wondering if some of you guys would like to convoy to the meeting. Was thinking we could meet with some of the southern guys coming up I-25. A good meeting place would be east of the Yale exit at the Safeway store. It is at the corner of Yale and Monaco. If we met there at 9:30, we could be out of there at 10:00 should give us time to be in Brighton by 11:00.
Let me know what you think,

9:30. cool, I'll be there.
FYI :new: unless we take an alternate route it looks like we will hitting the renta-road(E-470) which is a toll road.
I hate getting stuck at the dang toll booth trying to write a check for $1.25 while all the kind commuters are patiently waiting behind me

OK, how many of you guys spent time in the last 24 hours getting your rig sow you could drive it :wave1:
I've been trying to finish off my manual to auto tranny swap. Got everything I can think of done tonight. I'll fire it up in the morning and make a decision on driving it then.
A simple AX-15 to AW-4 swap, right. Lets see all the little issues.
Get the tranny
Find a matching NP231
Design and install a SYE on the NP231
Get the parts to connect a companion flange to a dual cardan.
Cut down and reweld a Bronco driveshaft.
Get a tranny mount.
Get a buddy over to help do the heavy part of the swap, thanks Aaron
Pull that danged pilot bearing out.
Modify the xfercase linkage since the xfer case moved back an inch.
Cut the sheetmetal to clear access to the tranny cooling coils on the radiator, since mine is an 85XJ
Replace the quick connects on the tranny cooling lines.
Find out that the firewall on the early XJ doesn't have the hole for the TCU cable.
Cut the TCU cable and run it throught he hole, make a grommet, resolder all the wires.
Hack the TCU cable into the wiring harness.
Swap the ECU.
Remove the clutch MC
Remove clutch pedal
Swap Brake pedal
Remove console
Mount shifter handle.
Revamp the exhaust that now wants to run through the tranny pan.
Fill all the fluids.
Pray before you start it up.
Those are just the highlights.
