Hey all,

This is the continuation of the Knock Sensor thread...

SPSERG and I both have a bare wire that isn't attached to anything in the wiring harness where the knock sensor plugs it. Could be some kind of ground or something. His is copper but mine is stranded silver wire and does look to me like some kind of ground. If ya'll get a chance could you take a peak and see how your wiring runs? Thanks!

The knock sensor wire is shielded to prevent false signalling - I think my 89 has an overbraid, and my 87 has a foil shield. It should - realistically - be tied to a ground at both ends, but it is acceptable for it to be grounded at one end (at the bulkhead cnx) and tape it down at the sensor end so it doesn't fray.
