I'd like to hear some opinion on what you think I should do -

Current setup: RE 4.5" kit w/ 1462 leaf springs and stock shackle. Currently sitting at a nice 5" over stock.

Next setup: RE 5.5" kit already purchased but not installed yet. This means I have 2 sets of 1462 leaf packs, one new and one used and already broken in.

Should I just install the new leaf packs w/ RE 1.25" shackle OR shall I keep my used leaf pack, install poly bushings and a TeraFlex 1.5" shackle? By my measurements the RE 1.25" shackle will only give 1" lift, and I don't want the rear sitting lower than the front once the new leafs settle. Thats why I think the TeraFlex shackle would be better with my old leafs. Kinda like splitting hairs I know, but which would be the better settup factoring in keeping it level with the front and flexiness?

I'd go 100% with your old springs.

About 5 years ago I got the RE 4.5" kit with the 1462 leafs and it wasn't until a couple years later that they really started working nicely. Now, I'm still running them with a longer shackle (very good idea with those leafs) and relocated shackle mount and my front to rear balance is almost identical.

go with old springs and longer shackles. i have the same leaves and JKS dog-leg shackles, they work pretty good.

Thanks for the advice guys.

Dennis, are those the "boomerang" shackles?

yes, they are the boomerang style, clears the crossmember and shackle mount box nicely.

Or you could go with Tera Flex Revolver Shackles.
