I am going hunting for some axles and need a way to ID the different years of ford trucks in the 70s. I used to have a link but cannot find it anymore.

Did they go to square headlights in 78? Or any more info like that appreciated. They are usually boned out to where the plates are all gone that have the dates on them.

78 square head lights were on most trucks, 73 was the 1st year of the new body the grill was around the headlight then 74-77 had a bezel around the light 78-79 had the turn signal under the headlight

Only the "Ranger" Trim level Fords had Square headlights in 78, all others were round. The 79's were when they all had the square headlights. All else stated above is right on.

Best place to get some decent pictures is to do a search on ebay for each year.
