Help!!!

I need some outside input. I am currently in Iraq so i cant look to see what is wrong. My XJ has 3 inches of lift and 31's with stock running gear. My 4wd does not work and my rear drive shaft is busted in two. Now on the front end (d30) my father in law says the drive shaft spins and the vacume line is on right, and the t-case shifts correctly and the indicator light comes on. Possably related : my sisters fiance used it to pull out a f 250 that was stuck in the mud. Im thinkin he tried snaping it out and possably snaped a inner axle. If this is the case what cani do to prevent this from happening again. Short of swaping the d30 with a d44. Any and all help would be apreciated.
