CPS & Cruise Control

My '94 XJ has been showing sign of CPS failure of late.
I should get a new one next week.
I was wondering if anyone has noticed a pattern where
CPS symptoms become more apparent during Cruise Control
use. Or, is it possible that a failing Cruise Control would bring
about the similar symptoms of a bad CPS.
The reason I ask, is because the last few times I've
been trucking down the highway, my XJ has bogged down
and at times stalled while the CC was engaged. Yet I've had
this happen in town as well w/o the cruise engaged.

So, for the last week , when I've been on the Highway,
I've stopped using the Cruise and the erratic behavior has
stopped (for now).

Am I the only one?

Your CPS issues are probably unrelated to the cruise control problem. I had a problem with my cruise where the vehicle speed would suddenly become irratic, or cut out altogether (engine kept running). Turned out to be corrosion on the connector on the cruise control brain box under the dash, brought on by a leaky windshield.
