Just thought I'd share with y'all what I do to support my jeep habit. I started out in remodeling doing pretty much anything that came my way, but over the last few years I've come to specialize in finishing basements. This was one I did for a repeat customer. Nothing too fancy, but it was about 2000 square feet with 8'6" ceilings and a couple special features. The wine racks for the wine cellar are supposed to come in next week, so I get to learn how to install those :wierd:

Ever done an attic? :) I got one you can help me do! :) It's got about 800-1000 sq ft. The center is about 12 ft. I'd love ot put a Theatre room, and play room up there for the twinns. I was also considering a climbing wall in one section for us to play on. Falling from 12 foot souldn't hurt too bad.

That is a nice basement. Looks like he had you put a jacuzzi, kitchenette, and recreation center down there too. It must be very satisfying to be able and stand back and look at your work. Nice job John ...

Looks nice John. I'm in the same line of work, it's amazing what people spend these days on renovations. Twenty grand for a bathroom or sixty thou for a kitchen isn't that rare anymore. The first 3/4 of last year was a little slow but lately the work is coming in so fast we can barley keep up. How's Biz in your area these days? TC

Thanks for the compliments, guys. I do get a lot of satisfaction from doing this kind of work, and I get all my work from referrals, so my customers must be satisfied, too. Many of them are executives who tell me they wish they could see something tangible at the end of their work day, but I don't feel too sorry for them since they are making way more than me.
Ghost, I have done attics, but I usually only work out of town for family, plus I don't want anyone to think I'm trying to advertise here. If you want to
e-mail me some pics and a sketch of what you want to do, I could give you some ideas and tips on how to do it. Judging by what you've done to your XJ, you're definitely not mechanically declined :)
TC, does this mean you're going to be too busy to make Winterfest? I still owe you a beer or three from the last Attica trip, but I don't see you on the who's going thread. I was busy enough last year, my gross sales were down but my profit was up, and I've got work for the next couple months now, so it looks like this year is starting out good.

I added a few more pics of the basement after the painters were done and I went back to install the wine racks. The homeowner had an estimate of over $30,000 :scared: for racks only slightly nicer than these for less than $6k installed. This should go to the first new pic

That definately is not what I am used to calling a basement. They picked some great colors to finish it with.
I imagine they will spend quite a bit of money just to fill those wine racks. Most of the guys here would put bottles of beer on them I bet. :spin1:
Great Job!
