Alt. going bad?

On my 96 at start up volt meter reads right @ 14v. Stays about the same w/ light ,radio & heater blower going. When engine warms up guage will drop to around 11v w/ everything going. If I shut off the blower off guage goes back to almost 14v. Is the alt. or blower going bad? TIA Jim

Measure voltage at the battery. The gauge is a terrible liar, especially when you use the fan, which apparently shares a circuit with it.

I agree with Matthew Currie. My gauge fluctuates from 14 down to around 11 at times. I measured my voltage at the battery, and it's constantly a little above 14 volts.

Yesterday after work the fan quit working on hi. Still works in the other positions, So I think that may be part of the problem. Thanks Jim.
