heres the deal, the front axle does not engage when i put my jeep into 4wd. the vacuum shift motor wotks when i pull it out of the vehicle and when i manually engage the front axle( taking the shft motor out and engaging it) it will come out of 4wd but will not go back in. i tested the vacuum lines and when in 4 hi the line has 10 pounds of vacuum on it. the trasfer case is working because the fron drive shaft spins when i brake tourque it in the snow but the front wheels do not spin. i have an 89 cherokee laredo with the 4.0 and i believe it has the 237 t-case but i cant remmber. i just got tis jeep and have only looked at it once. any help would be greatly appreciated.
