Starting problems.

I have an 87 4.0 (A.K.A Barney) that has a very hard time starting when it's cold. We're talking about 5-7 minutes of constant cranking. After the engine warms up, it starts right up. I'm thinking it's the IAC or the EGR?

TIA, Neil

Have you checked fuel pressure? When my fuel pump was going bad, the check valve on the pump leaked so it would not hold pressure, and crank times were long before start. Next start up, when you turn on the ignition don't start it, wait for the pump to turn off, then cycle the ignition key a second time and see it it starts faster. If it does, your fuel pump is on the way out.
