I'm sure all of you have seen many choppers make some daring moves, but this one is spectacular. Hope you enjoy it. This attached shot was taken by a trooper in Afghanistan. Pilot is Larry Murphy, PA National Guard. Larry is a Keystone Helicopter Corp.. EMS Pilot employee called to active duty. I must state that this is a "unique" landing operation. I understand that this particular military operation was to round up suspects.

We have some super reservists and National Guard folks out there in addition to our volunteer troops.

God bless them all.

:patriot: Damn if that isnt impressive. That is what makes our guys the best they if it can be done they find away. unfortunatly in in peace time something like that would get them in trouble since its not "the way we do it" but atleast when the crap hits the fan our guys are able to do what they need to do to get the job done.

While trhat is good flying an dI wisgh to take nothing away from the guy doing it there are guys who fly with that much precision every day in civilian life. Any good construction pilot should be able to do that if there are not bad wind conditions... still an awsome pic though....

It's a unique landing config these big tandem-rotor birds have.

Always impressed with Helicopter pilots. Had a few pick us up out of the Jungle in Vietnam that way and a few other very odd dangerous ways. These guys were a Grunts hero cause they would never leave our asses hangin and quiet a few of them lost their lives because of it.
My guys (101st airborne 1/327 Infantry) are on their way home as we speak from Iraq. those that are close to Fort Campbell Kentucky give them a big Thumbs up for me please.
Thanks

Military chopper pilots rock.
My first instructor (fixed wing) was a cross-rated miltary guy who insisted that I hold airspeed, altitude and heading to impossibly tight tolerances, and showed me how to do it.
Remember though, that there's a rather big difference between doing something and doing it in the crosshairs.
