My Distributor squeals on cold days, I am sure that it is my distributor and not a belt or anything else. Is there a good way to lubricate the bushings, and if so what lube is recomended?

Try using some dielectric grease to lube the rotor where it contacts the cap. Sometimes it gets dry and sqeaks. The distributor is lubed by the engine oil.

I had the same problem last week and upon the advice of one of our esteemed forums contributors I replaced the entire distributor. Boy, I'm glad I did--there was a significant amount of resistance when I tried to rotate the shaft by hand. The bushings were clearly shot and I was lucky the whole mess hadn't yet flown apart into the oil pan. If you decide to replace your distributor, you'll find it to be a fairly easy top-side job which is quite the opposite of having to drop the oil pan.

Hmm sounds as if I will have to investigate some more to find out just where in my distributor I am getting the squeal. Thanks for the info tho

I found the issue, my cap and rotor were kinda nasty looking even though I just installed them not too long ago, so I cleaned them up, but the real issue was with the upper bushing in the distributor shaft, I put a little mystery oil down there and it spins nice and qietly now.
