Since so many people were asking I'll throw up some pics. I'm planning on finnishing this in a couple of weeks.
Some how I dented my "frame" at the mall so I had to fix it first...

It took a slide hammer, BFH, and C clamps to pull it out...

Here's the B pillar hoop, 1.75X.120 wall DOM...

After the main driver's cell was test fit and tacked it was lowered for the final welding and paint...

...still have a lot more to add to it(like 13 more tubes!).
Sub frame and rockers with some primer to prevent rust.

Got about 2 more full days to complete it as well as another day for paint, reinstalling my interior pieces, and new headliner, etc. Big thanks to CRASH for all the welding, there was a lot of it. ;)

Looks good, looks like you guys had it in high gear Sat and Sun.

fixing framerail dents, Geesh I would of thought the angle would of covered it up nicely :) But they were probably bad enough so they were tough to weld too. I had to use some filler material by some of my dents to weld the angle up good.

looks good Jes. that's a smart way to get the cage welded, i haven't though of it. what do the cage legs mount to? do they go though the floor and tie directly into the rockers/frame?

Jes,

I know you're not really that tall like me but don't you think that cage is a little low and you might bump your head on it?

Gona need to get with xjguy and get some rated padding for it! :D

Looks good, you must have made good progress once I was out of the way.
Dennis, look for "Cagey Happenings at URF", CRASH shows the tie-ins there.

Triangle gets welded to the frame.

I still can't believe that happened at URF. It looks way too nice.

Must have been our abstention from alcohol on Sunday that got it done!

The rest is easy, only two more bends, everything else is cut and miter.

with a cage that low, knee pads should do it.

You have some of those, don't you Mark?

you know the xj is pathetic when you can repair the "frame" with a slide hammer!!!!!

LOL!

That's not pathetic - that's . . . aahhhhhh . . . versatility! Yea, that's it.
:helpme:

Actually, sharp eyed NAXJA browsers will recognize that beach towel as the prefered head gear while welding on ORGS MFG.'s SBS. ;)

Jes is thinking of returning the crossmember for warranty work, it's hella scratched up!

I don't think he should have to put up with that kind of design flaw, do you?
