I just bought an 87 xj for 500, (sweet trail rig- already set up, runs great)
It doesnt have any plastic or carpet, so the shifter know is exposed and very rusty. I can't shift out of park without using a screw driver- I cant push the button. Once I get out of park to drive her, I cant put it in park to get the key out. any ideas? I could leave the key in permanently, or replace the whole dang apparatus (hard?). thoughts?
