Check Engine Light - 2000 died in motion - thoughts?

Last night my 2000 XJ died in motion only seconds after the check engine light came on. I could restart it, but it would die again within seconds. Going to the dealer for service, but want to make sure I'm not going to get soaked - any thoughts on this ugly phenomenon?

was it hard to start back up?


sound like a CPS to me.

Yeah, it was hard. It started and then quickly died.

Yep crankshaft position sensor located at the drivers side of the bellhousing. Connector is at the back of the intake next to the firewall.
